Is Skydiving Worth It?

If you haven’t yet made a jump, you might be asking yourself, “is skydiving really worth it?” There are plenty of ways to frame the question–and, to help you out, we plan to answer each one of them individually. Without further ado, here’s our best argument for why you should go skydiving (and we should know!)

1. Is Skydiving Worth The Cost?

When you’re evaluating the relative worth of any activity, the price tag figures in prominently. After all: Risks are potential, but costs are concrete. There’s no nail-biting guesswork when it comes to a credit card statement, after all: But while the price of a skydive is slightly different from dropzone to dropzone, the value of a skydiving experience varies widely.

A big destination dropzone with a sterling reputation to uphold and a long, decorated history in the sport (like ours!) is a very different beast than a brand-new operation with a single plane and a Groupon offer. At Skydive Perris, we employ some of the most experienced tandem instructors in the business, use the highest-end equipment and maintain everything in our hangar to exacting specifications. We do this for one reason and one reason only: To make sure that your tandem skydiving experience could not be better. (Spoiler: We’re not bragging or exaggerating when we say we nail it every time.)

2. Is Skydiving Worth The Risk?

Skydiving isn’t nearly as risky as you might think, and a quick glance at the skydiving safety statistics collected by the USPA will make that absolutely clear. The sport does, of course, carry some risks–anything worth doing does–but they’re quite manageable, especially in the carefully regulated context in which we jump out here at Perris. We like to joke that we prefer to stay in the air for our own safety, because skydiving at Skydive Perris is so much safer than driving on Southern California roads or breathing the smog-thickened air close to the ground. (It’s funny because it’s true.)

3. Is It Worth It To You To Pass The Opportunity By?

Honestly, this is the most important question. Why you should go skydiving revolves around the immense reward that you’ll receive for your investment of some risk and some cash. The payoff–nothing less than an empowered new perspective on life–depends on your willingness to just do it.

Is skydiving fun? Sure. But it’s also one of the most important things you’ll ever do for your frame of reference, your self-confidence and your ability to follow your dreams wholeheartedly. We’re looking forward to showing you just how worth it that tandem skydive will be!
