TONY GOODMAN - CHIEF INSTRUCTOR OF MILITARY OPERATIONS
Perris is unique in the fact that it has its very own Chief Instructor of Military Operations whose sole responsibility is to help and assist with all military business that passes through our facility. Tony completed 24 years in the British Army retiring in March of 2009 where he then took up his position here in Perris. Tony has been using the facilities here for the past 12 years where he would bring large groups over from the UK and put them through arduous adventurous training for 2 weeks at a time. He also holds both USPA and BPA (British Parachute Association) qualifications which include BPA – Advanced Instructor / Examiner, AFF Instructor / Examiner, Canopy Piloting Coach, Canopy Handling Coach, Formation Skydiving Coach and Canopy Formation Coach. USPA – AFF Instructor, Coach and Safety and Training Advisor. Having Tony here with dual qualifications has now opened the door to allow visiting military groups not just from the US but also from the UK and other European countries to have the opportunity to plan such adventurous / continuous training expeditions without the worry of having to bring their own instructors. For further information regarding any military visit whether for first time students or at an experienced level please contact Tony at tony@skydiveperris.com where he will be more than happy to help and assist with any administration and logistic burdens that you may encounter on your way.
History
The Conatser family purchased the Perris Valley Airport in 1976. Over the years, the family owned and operated business has grown into one of the most respected training venues in sport parachuting. We have successfully operated as a year-round skydiving center for 32 years, averaging 120,000 jumps each year.
Airport
The airport's location is unique in that it is surrounded by wide-open land with approximately 600 acres and relatively unrestricted airspace. The airport itself is on 85 privately owned acres, 15 acres of which can strictly be used to service and support any military parachute ground training program with separate air / jump operations.
Convenient Location
Our airport is within a reasonable distance from major population centers, 35 miles south of Ontario International Airport and 75 miles south of Los Angeles International Airport and 75 miles north of San Diego International Airport, within only a few miles of accommodations and all other basic necessities.
World Class Skydiving Center
Skydive Perris has been a leader in the sport parachuting industry hosting 4 US National Championships, a World Cup and countless World Record events. In addition to sport parachuting, Perris Valley has supported many military groups. For the last decade, various US military units, as well as foreign militaries have utilized some civilian skydiving centers to conduct their training. Perris Valley has become the training location of choice for much of this military training because of our ability to provide these units with the weather, aircraft and facilities to train efficiently and effectively.
Weather
Perris Valley has one of the country’s most ideal climates for year-round skydiving and Military Free Fall training. We average 345 jumpable days per year.
Safety
We are able to conduct safe, concurrent operations as a result of:
• A private military training facility separated from civilian activity.
• Separate large landing areas dedicated to Military Free Fall activity.
• A private airport that is not hindered by other aviation activity outside of our own operations.
Aircraft
Perris Valley Skydiving owns and operates, three (3) DeHavilland Twin Otters, One (1) Shorts Skyvan, One (1) Pilatus Porter and One (1) DC-9 Jet. All aircraft are maintained in accordance with the manufacturers, FAA approved, 135 type maintenance programs and all aircraft, routine and non-routine maintenance is performed by FAA Certified Mechanics.
Ground Facilities
Perris Valley’s world class training facilities also include a separate and secluded military training area, large open landing areas, 5200’ runway, rigging loft and a full service restaurant.

Wind Tunnel On Site
The Perris Valley SkyVenture Vertical Wind Tunnel (VWT) is a full service military training facility and has hosted clients from all branches of the US Military as well as numerous foreign forces. The Perris Valley SkyVenture can be utilized and has proven to be a valuable training tool within any freefall program, minimizing and in some cases eliminated the need for dual jumpmaster AFF instruction. The on-site VWT provides a tool for immediate remedial training and students can be retrained midcourse. The Perris SkyVenture allows for combat equipment training in a controlled environment and should be used prior to live freefall training. Benefits of the VWT in Military Free Fall training:
• Immediate freefall awareness and skill development
• Eliminates need for dual jumpmaster instruction; immediate 1on1 student jumps
• Remedial training available for students having difficulty
• Higher graduation rates and course success
