-ism presents: 2010 Canopy Piloting Series
ISM is planning a four competition series that will test competitors canopy piloting skills. Each one will be comprised of two rounds of three events. The first comp wil be a speed carving course to the left, long jump distance course, and a straight zone accuracy course. There will be an exhibition round at the end for all the competitors that do freestyle, but the score from this round will not affect the score of the previous three, it is going to be an independent contest. Each competition will consist of slightly diferent rounds, so for the second one we have planed a speed course to the right, a long jump course, and carving accuracy to the left.The rules of competition will be modeled after FAI but we will modify the weight rule to bridge the gap between the pros and the newcomers. This will force competitors to have to be efficient pilots and rely less on strategy than skill ...a true test of piloting. For more info check out the -ism Facebook page

SoCal Converge: The new World Freefly Champions
Skydive Perris would like to congratulate the members of SoCal Converge on their World Meet win in Russia. Team members Travis Feinhage, Andy Malchiodi, and Matt Lewis achieved a 24 in the speed round on jump two during the World Meet, smashing the previous world record and helping them to grab the gold in Russia. Great work guys, and welcome home!
USA Spaceland Blue: Bronze Medal Winners in Russia
Skydive Perris would like to congratulate the members of team USA Spaceland Blue on their Bronze medal achievement at the 2010 World Meet in Menzelinsk, Russia. Team members Becky Brocato, Erin Murphy, Brianne Thompson, Annaliese Peterson, and Niklas Daniel were able to overcome much of the competition and bring home the Bronze in the Women's 4-Way division. Welcome home Blue!

Surf is UP at the Perris Pond!
After months of digging and filling, the pond at Skydive Perris is now open! The 220'x220' pond area has had a complete overhaul. The banks have been graded for a gradual exit slope. All of the reeds and other plant life have been cleared away. A zone accuracy course has been set up for training. And all the dirt around the pond and the exit lane has been tilled for soft, smooth landings.
If you are in need of canopy coaching, or are not a swooper and want to get in the pond, contact our canopy coaches for some training and join in the fun.

Moo's Manic Mondays
These Mondays are not your average Mondays. This is a group of jumpers who have dedicated their time and effort to our loving sport of free flying. We all get together on Mondays to do some nice Multi Point Big Way (15-20 people) Sequential jumps. We are always looking for more friends to join our group. If you have the skill to hold your slot and take the grips, then this group is for you.
